I had the good fortune to have a very generous cartooning mentor, Ken Muse. He had a syndicated cartoon strip called “Way Out” and I met him when he was teaching cartooning and photography at Macomb Community College in Warren, MI.
Ken published two books on professional cartooning. The first was titled ” The Secrets of Professional Cartooning” published in 1981. The second was titled ” The Total Cartoonist” published in 1984. Ken was so impressed with my progress as a cartoonist, that he gave me my own page in “The Total Cartoonist”. I was one of 16 professional cartoonist who inked that same character which showcased the different styles of cartoon art.
